What is a Hipot Tester?

Hipot tester, also called ultra-high voltage hipot tester, portable AC and DC high voltage hipot tester, AC and DC ultra-high voltage hipot tester, AC and DC high voltage hipot tester. According to its function, it can be called electrical insulation strength tester, dielectric strength tester, etc.

Hipot Tester working principle is: a voltage higher than normal operation is applied to the insulator of the device under test for a specified period, and the voltage applied on it will only generate a small leakage current, so the insulation is better. The program-controlled power supply module, the signal acquisition, and conditioning module, and the computer control system constitute the test system. Select two indicators of the withstand voltage meter: the value of the maximum output voltage value and the maximum alarm current value.

Compliant with GB4706.1 standard, time, leakage current, AC and DC voltage are all digitally displayed, withstanding voltage from 20kV to 100kV, leakage current from 0 to 200mA, and time from 1s to 999s. Users can choose and buy according to product needs.

Single-chip control, high test accuracy, stable test performance, strong impact resistance, high voltage breakdown protection.

dc hipot tester

The ATO hipot tester is widely used in the ultra-high withstand voltage test of household appliances, wires and cables, instrumentation and other products, the ultimate withstand voltage test of insulating materials and the polarization of electro-acoustic equipment.

AC and DC test transformers: Input the power frequency power supply into the operation box (or console), and adjust the voltage through the auto-voltage regulator and input it to the primary winding of the test transformer. According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, power frequency high voltage can be obtained in the secondary (high voltage) winding.

This power frequency high voltage can be obtained after being rectified by a high-voltage silicon stack and filtered by a capacitor to obtain a DC high voltage whose amplitude is 1.4 times the effective value of the power frequency high voltage. It’s just that when using DC, the short-circuit rod should be pulled out, and when using AC, the short-circuit rod should be inserted.

Test transformer with tap: In order to satisfy the contradiction between a transformer with higher voltage and smaller voltage and lower current and larger current, the high-voltage winding is divided into two to be wound. One is the winding with a larger current, the other is a winding with a smaller current, and then the two windings are connected in series to lead out, respectively.

Cascade test transformer: In order to obtain a higher voltage test transformer, the cascade method can also be used to obtain a higher voltage.
